Art Request: Snowman from Homestuck

An art request from my friend Jackie. I don't know this character (Not yet anyway) but she's from an online series called Homestuck. It's suppose to be pretty amazing, I haven't read enough yet, but I know the music is awesome!

I've also discovered I'm more productive with my art when I do art for other people. I'm hoping this'll be my new trend :)

Lollipop Chainsaw

During our vacation Steve and I played through (as in I watched him play) Lollipop Chainsaw. SUCH a strange game. Still, the whole concept is a lot of fun and made for fun to draw. I hadn't been this entertained drawing anything for a long while.

 Also, I can't draw chainsaws.

Donated Markers

A good friend of mine gave me her old, barely used set of Prisma colored markers. I never felt skilled enough with them to justify the (expensive) purchase but I've always wanted to get better with them. Now that I have them, I must teach myself to be worthy of the possession.

I feel like I'm at a grade school level of worthiness.

Also, awkward ear gets no love.

Oh my god...highlight crazy...

I am terribly TERRIBLY guilty of moving onto highlights before I even get close to completing a colored piece. I haven't even laid flat colors onto her bathing suit. Like a little kid who eats dessert before finishing dinner.

And yes, I do like similes and metaphors.

Still, it's progress! It's a wonder I got it this far.

Victoria Secret

Like most woman who has ever shopped at a Victoria Secret, I get a monthly catalog from them advertising the latest clothing and underclothing of the season.

I've been receiving this catalog long enough to have a favorite model, and this girl is gorgeous, this drawing does NOT do her justice. I started off just wanting to draw her face but found myself drawing the rest of her. I'm pulling this pose straight from the the $10 off coupon I got in the mail. If I knew I'd be taking the drawing this far I would have emphasized the pleasant angles in her pose (like in the photo).

Still, this was fun, I wanted to produce clean line work since so often my sketches are a mess and I just leave it like that. I'm like a man who sleeps with a beautiful woman only to leave her with baby and claim no responsibility. I'M BETTER THAN THAT! I HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO SEE THESE THINGS THROUGH!/end rant

I'll continue to add personal art to this journal. 365 Pretty Ladies is just a side project :)
