Pacific Rim
Took me a while to realize I wasn't suppose to take too seriously. Put on my anime brain that also appreciates movies like Men In Black and I actually really enjoyed it.

School Girl
Based off of the girls I hung out with middle/high school. There's just something about those low rise baggy jeans and short shirts that I miss <3

Art Request: Snowman from Homestuck
An art request from my friend Jackie. I don't know this character (Not yet anyway) but she's from an online series called Homestuck. It's suppose to be pretty amazing, I haven't read enough yet, but I know the music is awesome!
I've also discovered I'm more productive with my art when I do art for other people. I'm hoping this'll be my new trend :)

Lollipop Chainsaw
During our vacation Steve and I played through (as in I watched him play) Lollipop Chainsaw. SUCH a strange game. Still, the whole concept is a lot of fun and made for fun to draw. I hadn't been this entertained drawing anything for a long while.
Also, I can't draw chainsaws.

Donated Markers
A good friend of mine gave me her old, barely used set of Prisma colored markers. I never felt skilled enough with them to justify the (expensive) purchase but I've always wanted to get better with them. Now that I have them, I must teach myself to be worthy of the possession.
I feel like I'm at a grade school level of worthiness.
Also, awkward ear gets no love.

Oh my god...highlight crazy...
I am terribly TERRIBLY guilty of moving onto highlights before I even get close to completing a colored piece. I haven't even laid flat colors onto her bathing suit. Like a little kid who eats dessert before finishing dinner.
And yes, I do like similes and metaphors.
Still, it's progress! It's a wonder I got it this far.

Victoria Secret
I've been receiving this catalog long enough to have a favorite model, and this girl is gorgeous, this drawing does NOT do her justice. I started off just wanting to draw her face but found myself drawing the rest of her. I'm pulling this pose straight from the the $10 off coupon I got in the mail. If I knew I'd be taking the drawing this far I would have emphasized the pleasant angles in her pose (like in the photo).
Still, this was fun, I wanted to produce clean line work since so often my sketches are a mess and I just leave it like that. I'm like a man who sleeps with a beautiful woman only to leave her with baby and claim no responsibility. I'M BETTER THAN THAT! I HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO SEE THESE THINGS THROUGH!/end rant

365 A Daily Creativity Journal
I'm not abandoning this journal, but adding to it!
http://365prettyladies.blogspot.com/
I'll continue to add personal art to this journal. 365 Pretty Ladies is just a side project :)

Erm?
COLOR! BLUE HAIR!
You know...I'm not entirely sure if ultimately I drew a girl or a teenage boy. Their left eye is kinda gimpy. I have such little patience for color. I was excited when I could finally put down some highlights. That and add some birthmarks. I LOVE characters with moles.
Long Overdue Dog Portraits
This drawing is over 7 years old. That's longer than the relationship I have with my husband. My excuses for taking this long were good enough for my Aunt (who requested this portrait of her two dogs after they passed away 7 years ago) but honestly, after 7 years....it's like saying life was my excuse for not finishing something.
Still, for this Christmas my Aunt was thrilled with it and I was more than happy to have drawn it for her, and for something so old, with all the things I could have done to make the drawing better, I'm still proud of what I've done.
Time management! Working on it...

Sparks and Comittment Issues
I can't say I know what's going on in this image. It's late and I'm pretty tired. I've been moody = moody art. Something about today or the last couple of days hasn't been sitting right with me. I'm guessing it's the weather. When that happens I try to do something artistic with it and end up with partially formed ideas. Like trying to start a fire and only managing to create heat, or sparks, and never managing to keep a sustainable flame.
Aaarraghflabah, here's my spark. I'm not good at producing complete work regularly so I think I'll start with producing any art regularly and continue working with my artistic commitment issues and getting to know my new tools :)

First Post! And it's a Meme...
A then and now meme (Correction: a "Teen Meme") I tricked a friend of mine into doing one of these so he made me promise to finish mine this weekend, more than a year later. So here it is!
